Us
Angela Cannings and Penny Mellor formed a close bond after Angela was
released from prison. Through Penny's 10 years of experience in campaigning
for parents like Angela and Angela's horrendous experiences of losing three
children to an unknown cause of death and being wrongfully convicted of
Jason and Matthew's alleged murder, they both felt it would be beneficial to
share their knowledge. They then formed a partnership offering support, help
and information for people who found themselves falsely accused. Both have
served time in prison and understand all too well the problems families can
face when a member of their own family is incarcerated. Both Angela and
Penny are accutely aware of the devastating impact a wrongful conviction can
have on children. It is the children both dead and alive upon whom the
Foundation will focus.
Our mission statement is as follows;
To promote more research into the causes of sudden death in infants and
children.
To encourage honest and open debate about the flaws in the current system.
To support parents and carers falsely accused.
To offer whatever financial support were we can, for the children of the
families involved in this nightmare.
